I don't think anyone has ever said "I slept in my sister's office on an air mattress and it was AWESOME!" You have great intentions, but I think you need to keep in mind sleeping on air mattress kind of sucks. I'm sure its worth it to see you, but an air mattress in an office isn't going to be a haven.
A few things to think about:
1) Can you give up your bed for/share your bed with your mother? This probably isn't feasible if you share a bed with a partner, but your mother is likely 50+ and an air mattress might be rough on her. Your brother can probably handle the air mattress.
2) Have you considered buying a futon rather than an air mattress? In my experience they are much more comfortable and if you are going to be in this location for a few years there is a good chance it will get a lot of use. They can also be fairly cheap. I would rather sleep on something like this than get a welcome basket:
(this may not be possible, but its a suggestions)
3) If you do a welcome basket, everything should be either something they will use when they are there or something so awesome they want to take it home. So if they don't wear slippers, don't buy them slippers. They will probably bring their own toiletries (and even if they didn't you would have them anyway) so they aren't a useful gift. City maps are an excellent idea.
4) Take everything off the desk in the office that you can. Throw it in a closet or drawer. They should feel like they can lay out their alarm clock, glasses, etc without disturbing your stuff.
5) Make the bed and include extra blankets.

hundreds of guys dont know the ins and outs of a BOV. If you respect our point of view, dont knock other companies that put out a great product for a reasonable price. The bottom line is you stil need a recir kit to make your BOV work. You cant install recir with out drilling or putting in a new hold after the MAF sensor. Thus its more expensive to install your kit and needs more custom work. The
